We live here. We know every child by name.
Build Lives CBO works to reduce disparities in access to quality education, so that children from rural and marginalized areas can take up leadership roles that shape their future — and everyone else’s.
Our support is customized to each child. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, we track every child’s progress and tailor what we provide — school fees, a daily hot lunch, mentorship — to what that child actually needs.
More about us
Seven programmes, one goal: every child learning.
School Lunch Programme
No child can learn hungry.
A hot, nutritious lunch every school day for children who would otherwise go without.
Child Education Support
Tailored to each child.
School fees, tuition, uniforms and stationery — customised to what each child actually needs.
Environmental Programme
Greening our schools.
5,660+ trees planted and cared for with local schools, alongside partners like Kenya Forest Service.
Diet Gardens
Gardens that feed and teach.
School gardens where children learn to grow food — and the harvest supplements the lunch programme.
Leadership & Mentorship
Raising tomorrow’s leaders.
Holiday workshops, training and retreats in soft skills, leadership, entrepreneurship and service.
WASH — Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
Healthy habits, healthy kids.
Hygiene and handwashing education and supplies in every one of our partner schools.
Community Outreach & Advocacy
Young voices, heard.
Helping young people speak up in the policy spaces that shape their future.
From your hands to a child’s future — in three steps.
-
1 You give
By M-Pesa, bank transfer, or in kind — from anywhere in Kenya or the world.
-
2 We put it to work
Directly in our partner schools in Dagoretti, Kajiado and Nanyuki — run by people from this community.
-
3 A child thrives
School fees paid. A hot lunch served. A tree planted. A young leader mentored.
🍲 A daily hot lunch
Your gift keeps a child fed every school day, so hunger never ends a school year.
📚 Fees & supplies
School fees, uniforms, shoes and stationery — tailored to each child’s needs.
🌱 Trees & gardens
Seedlings and diet gardens that feed schools and teach children to grow food.
Seeding a better future for children
Watch how a seed grant from The Pollination Project helped us create diet gardens where children plant, till and learn — and where the harvest feeds their school.
“Breaking the poverty cycle is sustainable when those in poverty are empowered with knowledge and guidance to a new way of life.”
